School year update 2012/2013
Students and parents,
Summer is moving by so quickly and we are fast approaching the time when our thoughts must turn back to school. In our commitment to keeping you up-to-date, I have some important information for you about the start up for the coming school year.
You may notice that we have a new logo. We spent some time creating an image that we felt best represented our students and our philosophy around being a school of choice. We hope you are as pleased with it as we are.
The first day of school for students will be on August 28th (check out the school calendar on our website). As I stated in the last newsletter, we will be adjusting our school year to start a little early and end a couple of days later in order to add in some additional breaks throughout the year. This will provide more flexibility for families who travel or want to be able to do so.
All students, returning and new, will be required to come to an orientation in order to get their computers and begin their studies. We will be introducing some new curricula and a new Learning Management System, so it will be imperative that you attend. Orientations will be on Tuesday, August 21 and Wednesday, August 22nd from 12:00pm – 8:00pm each day. There will be a variety of locations and times available, so please mark these dates on your calendar.
You will be receiving a call during the week of August 6-10, confirming your attendance and choice of location and time. Please make sure that Heather Stouder, our admissions specialist, has a valid phone number for you on file. If you have not heard from our office by August 10th, please feel free to call and schedule your orientation.
I look forward to the beginning of a great year and to meeting all of you.
Joni Tabler, Principal
